Andrew is the only lawyer at ALG with a degree in studio fine art, but he traded in his pictures for thousands of words and now writes compelling arguments in defence of those accused of wrongdoing.
Andrew attended the University of British Columbia for law school. He entered his legal studies with a keen interest in criminal law and the protection of human rights, which led him to work with the UBC Law Innocence Project, Lawyers’ Rights Watch Canada, and UBC’s Immigration and Refugee legal clinic. He received numerous awards in completing his degree, including the Premier and Wesbrook Scholarships, UBC’s highest undergraduate honours. After graduating, he articled at a prominent Vancouver criminal law firm, interned with the Prosecution Division of the International Criminal Court, and clerked for the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
At ALG, Andrew’s practice includes a mix of trial and appellate work. He is passionate about standing shoulder to shoulder with his clients in difficult times.
