Frank Addario Comments in the Globe and Mail on Trial Delays in Sexual Assault Cases

Frank Addario told the Globe and Mail the time it takes for sexual assault matters to come to trial has become "unconscionable." The Globe and Mail reports that the median time for sexual assault cases to reach a conclusion has increased by 38% since R. v. Jordan. Frank explained that, "[I]t's not the judges who are fault, it's not defence counsel who are fault, it's the one party in the triumvirate with access to the resources to create the conditions for speedier trials that's at fault, and that's the government."
