Samara Secter and Rebecca Amoah Working to Right Wrongful Conviction
ALG lawyers are assisting Chris Sheriffe to apply for a wrongful conviction review of his 2012 murder conviction
Addario Law Group's Samara Secter and Rebecca Amoah are working with Chris Sheriffe to seek a review of his 2012 murder conviction that was the subject of a Toronto Star investigation and podcast.
Their application focusses on inadmissible evidence from a police witness about information he said he received from secret informants about Mr. Sheriffe being connected to a gang.
Samara explained to The Star's Kevin Donovan that she was moved by the newspaper's investigative reporting on the case to reach out to Mr. Sheriffe and offer to help him seek a review pro bono.
"I was inspired by his patience and kindness. I wanted to see for myself what, if anything, I could do to help."
